“Movie and Radio Guide, a weekly, began life in 1931 as Radio Guide, changing its name in 1940. The name was revised again in 1940 to Movie-Radio Guide. “There were as many as 14 regional editions, intended to reflect local programming schedules and stations. It morphed into Radio guide and is the predecessor of TV Guide” – World Radio History.com.
