FBIS daily reports were English-language translations of publicly available foreign mass media reports that were transmitted by radio, television, and print. The Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) was an open source intelligence office within the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The JPRS reports also here are essentially FBIS reports.

These links to audiobook searches of railroad subjects lead to public domain recordings from the LibriVox.org collection at Internet Archive. The audiobooks, recorded by Librivox volunteers, were nearly all published before 1930. Recordings include works on historical cross-continental travels, poetry, traditional folklore, and classic literature of the era.
